Hamburg, September 30, 2015. Under its well established ALCOM brand, ALBIS PLASTIC, global specialist in distribution and compounding of technical thermoplastics located in Hamburg, is expanding the ALCOM EC product range with the inclusion of ALCOM EC EMI.
These newly developed compounds fulfill requirements for electromagnetic compatibility and shielding (EMC/EMI) for applications from the electro-mobility and electrical & electronics sectors.
EMC/EMI serves to reduce the effect of electromagnetic fields. Electromagnetic waves are blocked (reflected and absorbed) to ensure proper function of electronic systems in electromagnetic surroundings. "This is why electromagnetic shielding materials are typically used for housings. In this manner electronic components on the inside are protected from interfering electromagnetic waves which could penetrate from the outside. On the other hand radiation of electromagnetic waves from the inside is prevented from escaping to the outside", explained Thies Wrobel, Product Specialist at ALBIS PLASTIC.
