LATI supports circular economy and Scope 3 decarbonisation in Hager’s MCB Commercial Platform

20.03.2026

LATI, Italian producer of engineering thermoplastics and high-performance compounds, collaborates with Hager in the development of the renewed MCB Commercial Platform, contributing to the integration of recycled materials into electrical protection devices and supporting the transition toward more circular and lower-carbon solutions.

Hager & LATI

This initiative represents the second milestone in the partnership between Hager and LATI aimed at applying circular economy principles to protection devices.

The material used in the product is produced through advanced chemical recycling via depolymerisation, enabling the recovery of polymers from end-of-life products and their transformation into high-performance compounds suitable for demanding technical applications.

"This advanced material, produced through chemical recycling via depolymerisation, delivers performance equivalent to virgin plastic, without compromising product quality," explained Patricia Lamouche, Engineering Discipline Leader Materials at Hager.

By replacing part of the plastic mass traditionally made from virgin raw materials with the recycled compound developed in collaboration with LATI, Hager reduces the carbon footprint associated with the material used in its MCB Commercial Platform.

This initiative supports Hager’s circular economy approach and contributes to the group’s Scope 3 decarbonisation pathway.

"Collaborations like the one with Hager show how advanced engineering thermoplastics can support customers in reducing the environmental impact of their products while maintaining the technical performance required by demanding applications such as electrical protection devices," said Alessio Portentoso, Sales Director at LATI. "At LATI we work closely with our partners to develop materials that combine circular economy principles with high reliability and long-term performance."

Through projects such as this collaboration, LATI continues to support customers in integrating recycled and circular materials into high-performance applications, contributing to the development of more sustainable products without compromising quality, safety or durability.
