New HASCO metal powder for additive manufacturing

New HASCO metal powder for additive manufacturing

Additive manufacturing technologies have long ceased to be restricted to the field of plastics. Also for demanding applications in tool and mouldmaking, high-performance systems and materials have been developed for the processing of metal. In processes such as Selective Laser Melting (SLM), high-grade powders of metals and metal alloys are processed, for example, into mould inserts with conformal cooling channels.

In contrast to subtractive processes such as milling, drilling, turning, and grinding, where material is removed, additive manufacturing involves applying a metal powder, layer by layer, and then fusing it at various points by laser to the layers beneath. This allows completely new design possibilities.

Metal powder noted for its high level of roundness and homogeneity

Here, HASCO is now offering a new high-performance metal powder MP/…, which is noted for its very high quality and ideal combination of particle size, roundness and homogeneity.

The powder is available in the material grades 1.2709 and 1.4404 and allows the production of complex construction geometries in top quality in all additive manufacturing processes for metals. It is supplied securely packed in stable wide-neck drums.
