Cooling systems offer communications capabilities

20.04.2021

Frigel’s Ecodry System 4.0, offering advanced inter-equipment communications capabilities, combines adiabatic water-cooling technology and/or central chilling systems with the company’s machine-side temperature-control units.

Frigel_Process_Synchronized_Units.5da60821b55acFrigel's Ecodry System 4.0 allows machine-side chillers to be interconnected and centrally controlled.

Ecodry
This system combines Frigel’s adiabatic water cooling technology and/or central chilling systems with the company’s machine-side temperature-control units branded as Microgel, Thermogel or Turbogel.

What’s new?
Ecodry System 4.0, which offers connectivity between the company’s 3PR central system controllers, which are supplied with the adiabatic and central chilling systems, and onboard machine-side equipment controllers. Data for all cooling system components is collected in the Machine Interactive Database, or MiND, hub.

Benefits
Greater connectivity and the ability to better leverage data to improve performance. The new Ecodry System 4.0 automatically stops all temperature-control units when production is stopped, and it allows the use of ambient air cooling, rather than refrigeration, when ambient temperatures are low enough. It also limits the use of chilled water to when and where it is needed. With MiND, data can be analyzed to determine the best parameters and cycling sequences. Alarms and troubleshooting can be handled remotely. The use of MiND cuts cycle times by as much as half, while improving part quality and reducing water and electrical use.
