ATB® disc brushes with abrasive high-tech bristles - Quicker processing times and high quality deburring results

21.06.2018

ATB® disc brushes by OSBORN are used for deburring, edge blending and finishing. They are ideal for machining flat surfaces, stamped and fine-blanked parts, precision, ground and lapped parts. ATB® brushes are also suitable for machining high-contour components such as drawn, laser-cut or milled parts and parts from the forming technology. Typical applications would be the deburring of cylinder heads and aluminium alloy engine blocks as well as hydraulic and pneumatic components.

ATB® disc brushes are manufactured to tight tolerances and do not have to be retracted. The particularly even edge rounding is interesting. Thanks to a modern manufacturing process, the fillmaterial in the brushbody is up to 4 times denser than in conventionally produced punched brushes. This leads to an increased service life and a shorter machining time of the workpiece and thus ultimately significantly reduces machining costs.

OSBORN offers a wide range of ATB®  brushes. The diameters range from 50 to 250 mm, whereby abrasive grains such as aluminium oxide, silicon carbide and ceramics up to diamond grains in different grain sizes and various filament lengths can be used. There are versions with full bristles and segmented bristles. Optionally, a flexible support collar around the brush can ensure stability with longer filaments at high speeds.Coolants and lubricants can easily be added during use. In addition, a number of different clamping fixtures and holders are available to be compatible with different machines. This way the brushes are suitable for use in all deburring systems - also with planetary heads.
