SPE seeks new CEO as De Vos returns to Industry

07.12.2016

SPE, The Society of Plastics Engineers, a global leading source for technology knowledge in the plastics industry, announces that its CEO, Willem De Vos, will leave the organization in 2017. De Vos, a Belgian national, joined SPE in 2012 after a very successful, 22-year career in the Plastics Industry in Europe and Asia.

SPE will start the search for a new leader in January 2017 with the goal to have him/her on-board by mid-year. “With our enhanced infrastructure and strong management team, the new CEO should continue the current path to create added value for the industry and its professionals” says SPE President Scott Owens. “We have restructured SPE, created additional member benefits, launched new industry services and events, and established several relevant partnerships under Wim De Vos’s leadership. The focus of the new CEO will be to continue building upon this new and effective business model” Owens adds.

“We have adapted SPE’s business and infrastructure to cope with the changed market environment and the more competitive landscape. With well-qualified resources in place, it will be time for me to get back into the industry once the new CEO has been installed” says De Vos, who wishes to remain in the plastics industry and continue to serve SPE in a future volunteer leader role.

The CEO search will be conducted by Korn Ferry and interested candidates can contact Ms. Lorraine Lavet at Korn Ferry for further information. Lorraine.Lavet@kornferry.com.
